Dark
days into the blue night brings the sun nearer to our heart. Shines on
us new hope, new thoughts, a new future. Peace penetrates the soul and
gives us rest awaiting our new steps, listening anew in our New Year

Fall ending
Fall ending....
Orange & gold, sparkle in the light.
A cool breeze.
Leaves shimmer and fall to the ground.
Trees bare for Winter's white.
Ice, snow & freezing winds lace around the barren limbs
As the last leaf falls.
I sense the light within, warmth of heart shines in Winter's night.

Fall sketches on site
Fall sketches on site in the National Forest.
A beautiful spot on a low hillside overlooking the stream. The sun would beam through the trees onto me and fill my soul with warmth and joy. A quiet moment of time and space.
I travel light
My favorite spot. Just a couple of hours of sketching today.
Working quickly allows freedom and play
I started with gouache and added dry pigment and glaze(yellow)
This one was painted in just a few minutes. I was trying to express the joy of the land Add caption

Blue
Blue….the
infinite
Ice crystals
Snow
Cold & deep
waters
Fall is passed
And winter
encroaches
Blue
sky…infinite,
Protecting
Moon shines
Over the
mountain peaks
Playful
Like a melody
Lifeless remains
of summer’s
Plants….
Chirp
Slosh
Sigh
Swish
Cries of nature
Earth’s deep
silence

The Ship
The Ship
I am standing upon the seashore. Aship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch her until at length she is only a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky meet and mingle with each other. Then someone at my side exclaims, :There, she's gone!
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large in hull and mast and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of her destination. Her dimmished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "She's gone," there are other eyes watching for her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "There, she comes!"
And that is dying..................................UNKNOWN

Red & Light
More radiant than the Sun,
Purer than snow,
Finer than the ether,
Is the self,
The spirit in my heart,
This self I am; I am this self
.......Rudolf Steiner

2015 Art Retreat Photos
2015 August Art Retreat was very fruitful. We worked very hard for 5 days. Mornings working on a larger painting in veil technique with Blues. A given exercise to push their limits. Afternoons, a variety of artistic exercises to loosen and stretch one's inner life. One full day devoted to landscape light and dark and color, going outside.
Philip Incao gave an evening presentation on health and illness
I gave, together with 3 others an art presentation on Franz Marc, Kandinsky, Macke, degenerate art, music of that time. and more. Some of the students also were involved with the performance.
